Doorknob was a piece created while studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The assignment was to closely study and incorporate a found object into your work. The object is a crystal doorknob, which were the original doorknobs in Quigley’s childhood home. Crystal doorknobs signify delicate elements of the home that were crafted to last. Quigley has been transfixed by the clarity, transparency and intricate reflections of light in these doorknobs for as long as she had seen them in her home.
